Rachel Lee is an American of Korean-American descent and was born in 1991. She grew up in Calabasas, California and was friends with her accomplice Nick Prugo, who she met at high school. They bonded over their shared love for fashion, and soon started burglarizing LA's wealthiest residents. Their infamous burglaries inspired the 2013 film The Bling Ring, and landed them behind bars. Lee pleaded no contest to one count of burglary in the Audrina Patridge case and served 16 months in prison. During her time in jail, she reportedly took advantage of the opportunity to reevaluate her life and became sober. She also reportedly worked on a writing project and grew closer to her mother.
After her release from prison, Rachel Lee has remained fairly private about her whereabouts. She declined to appear in Netflix's Bling Ring docuseries, despite her accomplices Alexis Neiers and Nick Prugo participating. However, she did recently graduate from cosmetology school and is currently working on a screenplay for a TV show.
During the Netflix documentary The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist, Neiers and Prugo revealed that they were just teenagers when they started stealing from celebrities in 2008. Between October 2008 and August 2009, the young teens stole millions of dollars worth of belongings from Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and more. The two were convicted of residential burglary and are serving their time in a California prison. In the docuseries, both of them admitted that they had become consumed by celebrity culture and reality shows.
