Nichol Kessinger has disappeared from the public eye since her affair with Chris Watts came to light after he brutally killed his pregnant wife Shannan and their two daughters. She changed her name and relocated to a new place, where she is said to be living under a different identity and avoiding the media.
According to reports, Kessinger became acquainted with Chris Watts when they worked in the same office at Anadarko Petroleum. They would communicate through work emails and became close over their shared interests. She also noticed that Watts did not wear a wedding ring, further solidifying her perception of their connection. They began dating in June 2018.
However, the relationship ended just two days after the murders took place. This is because Watts lied to his girlfriend about his family’s disappearance, telling her that his wife had gone out on a date and that they were still awaiting his divorce case to be finalized.
He then strangled Shannan and smothered their children. Watts confessed to the crime and was sentenced to life in prison.
After his incarceration, Kessinger revealed to the police that she and Chris had an intimate affair. He claims that she even kept in touch with him while he was behind bars, writing to him under her new name. She allegedly even told him that she wished he had been more careful with his family and that she understood why he was so upset when he found out about the robbery of their home.
