Three Angels Broadcasting Network (3ABN) was founded in 1984 by Danny Shelton, a Seventh Day Adventist televangelist who has been widely recognized worldwide for his ministry. He is best known for his daily broadcasts of Bible studies, inspirational messages and interviews with guests from the world of entertainment and sports.

He also has produced and hosted music videos, a line of religious greeting cards, and two television series. Shelton’s broadcasts have been heard on 3ABN radio, on the Internet and on cable television.

Shelton is executive director and a trustee of The Joyce Theater Foundation. Before joining The Joyce in 1993, she was general manager of the Joffrey Ballet and held various management positions at The Twyla Tharp Dance Foundation. Shelton has also served on panels for the National Endowment for the Arts’ National Dance Project, New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and American Masters: Dance, as well as being on the jury of Japan’s Toyota Choreography Award and Russia’s prestigious Benois de le Danse.

Shelton and her husband reside near Thompsonville, Virginia. They have five children—Josh Groves, Mamie Arnold, Lindsey Godsil, and Olevia Lockie Vann. Shelton is survived by her sister, Rebecca L. Shelton; and grandchildren, including the children of her brother, Clifton G. OBryan. Pallbearers will include Josh Groves, Chester Sale, Horst Maggard, and Eugene Vann. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home in Lake City.
