Lee Murray is a man of many names, and he's also a criminal. He was part of the team that stole about $5.3 million from a Securitas depot in 2006, which was the biggest cash heist in British history at the time. He got caught and is in prison now. However, he's also known as "Lightning" and a mixed martial artist who competed in the UFC in the early 2000s. He won a fight in 2004 by submitting Jorge Rivera with a triangle armbar.
He has been able to live an opulent lifestyle in prison, but his criminal activities have put him at risk of being recaptured. Besides his fighting career, Murray has also been involved in several other crimes, including smuggling drugs and stealing radios from cars. The BBC reports that he was arrested in Morocco in June 2006 after he was elevated to the status of a key suspect in the Securitas depot robbery. He was able to avoid extradition from the UK because Morocco and the United Kingdom have no extradition treaty in place. He was eventually detained in Morocco and was sentenced to ten years in prison.
In the years since, he has been in and out of jail, mostly for violating prison rules. He's been accused of using a cell phone to conduct interviews that revealed the lax regime in the Moroccan prison, as well as having access to porn and drugs. He has also been accused of fathering a child with a female visitor in prison.
