After impressing the judges with his emotional rendition of Labrinth’s 'Jealous' during his 2015 audition on The X Factor UK, Josh Daniel was a shock choice for one of the boys to make it through to the live shows. But the likeable northerner, who dedicated his song to a childhood friend who passed away aged 18, didn't win and was dropped from the competition at Judges’ Houses. However, it appears that his early exit was a blessing in disguise as the singer has now released his first original single, 'Nowhere To Hide'.
The track is a funky RnB and soul jam that Josh has clearly been working hard on. The North Carolina born singer-songwriter is able to mold his influences into a unique sound that is entirely his own. Raised on vinyl from the 1970's where both Soul and Rock 'n' Roll were equal parts of his soundtrack, Josh estimates that he knows "a couple hundred" songs along with countless original compositions that range from complex bluegrass instrumentals to full-blown pop classics.
Blending rock 'n' roll with bluegrass, funk and soul music with a reggae backbeat Josh is able to create a one-of-a-kind musical experience for all of his fans. Performing across the United States Josh's dynamic vocal range and acoustic skills coupled with his Digitech looper pedal allow him to create an amazing one man band that never disappoints. Josh's musical journey has only just begun and he is on a mission to reach as many people as possible with his music.
