Longtime Houston sports talk host Charlie Pallilo has exited Gow Media owned ESPN affiliate KFNC 97.5 Mont Belvieu/92.5 FM Houston. He announced his departure in a column on the SportsMap website which is part of Gow Media’s portfolio of sites including CultureMap. Pallilo has been a fixture on the local sports radio scene since moving to the city in 1989 and has hosted at News/Talk 740 KTRH, KILT 610 AM and KBME 790 AM with stints on weekends, nights and mornings.
Pallilo says he hasn’t closed the door on returning to the airwaves in Houston and will continue writing for CultureMap. He will also continue to appear on KPRC Channel 2’s SportsNation as well as work on a variety of Gow Media digital platforms.
