After much anticipation, Carnival Celebration has arrived in PortMiami! The cruise line’s newest Excel-class ship is the sister to the hugely popular Mardi Gras, and it’s now in its new home at Terminal F. The naming ceremony is scheduled for today, and guests aboard will be joined by the godmother, Cassidy Gifford, daughter of Kathy Lee Gifford.
Upon boarding, Carnival Celebration is immediately a feast for the eyes. She is adorned in Carnival’s signature bright and colorful style, featuring the Ultimate Playground, the largest onboard waterpark in the fleet, and BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea. The fun continues in the Lido zone, which includes fan favorites like Red Frog Tiki Bar and Blue Iguana Cantina as well as the all-new Street Eats serving up savory treats from around the world such as bao buns and various kinds of loaded fries.
The Miami-inspired 820 Biscayne zone is another highlight, celebrating the eclectic culture of the city that spawned the Carnival brand with neon art and a menu of local favorites, including 5-star seafood from Rudi’s Seagrill. Of course, no Miami-inspired zone would be complete without a cool bar and a deli, so head to 820 Bar and grab a fruity cocktail or a refreshing Cuban coffee.
Carnival Celebration’s inaugural schedule for the year features regular week-long cruises to the Eastern Caribbean departing from PortMiami. The ship will visit Amber Cove, San Juan and St. Thomas, and a longer, eight-night itinerary will call on Roatan, Mexico’s Costa Maya and Cozumel and the island of Honduras’ Mahogany Bay.
