When it comes to vloggers, the internet has seen its fair share of rising stars. But not many can boast of the kind of fame that boxxy gained. This teen internet personality shot to fame years ago and now people are wondering, what happened to her?
Catherine Wayne, who rose to prominence as Boxxy, has been keeping a low profile since she retired from her YouTube career. However, that does not mean that she has disappeared from the internet altogether. In fact, she has been busy with other creative pursuits. The vlogger has ventured into voice acting and has lent her voice to various video games, most notably the indie role-playing game, BoxxyQuest: Gathering of the Storm.
She also starred in the Disney XD film, Billy Dilley’s Super-Duper Subterranean Summer as Marsha. In addition to this, she hosted the Discovery Digital Networks streaming series Animalist from 2013-2014.
The rise of boxxy as a viral sensation can be attributed to her videos which highlighted her love for different fandoms and online communities. Her energetic vlogs were a hit amongst viewers. However, the adolescent had her share of detractors too. The internet trolls on 4chan took great delight in attacking her with vicious memes and even threatened to reveal her identity.
The controversy surrounding the teen vlogger prompted her to stop uploading new content to her channel. She posted her final video on her original channel around nine years ago and bid farewell to her followers. She then started a new channel called ANewHopeee where she shared content ranging from beauty tutorials to comedy skits.
