After a brief rise to fame in 2017, Lil Pump seemed to be on the verge of a free fall. With no clear goals, a presumably misunderstood contract, and increasingly drab releases, he appeared to be headed for musical despondency. But then, at the beginning of 2021, Pump released a surprise album that almost nobody noticed. The album was titled Lil Pump 2.
Pump’s new album was an interesting twist on his style. While he’s always been eccentric, his new music was darker and more serious. It also included guest appearances from a variety of popular rappers. But the most notable aspect of the album was its cover art, which depicted a tattooed and shaven-headed Pump wearing a white suit and a pink and gold skull mask.
In the months leading up to the release of his new album, Pump had several run-ins with the law and had been facing some backlash from fans for his political views. But he seemed to be unfazed by it all. He even went so far as to say that he didn’t understand why people hate him.
Pump also recently released a new song called “Esskeetit.” The song references drugs like Actavis and Ecstasy, as well as luxury brands such as Patek Phillipe. The track has gotten over 5 million views on YouTube and was written and produced by CBMix. The video for the song shows Pump driving a Porsche and a Rolls-Royce around Miami. He’s also been seen wearing several different luxury outfits, including a pair of diamond-encrusted Nike Air Jordans.
