Jessie is a toy doll who is one of the main characters in Toy Story. She was originally the plaything of Emily, who outgrew her and gave her away as a charity box. Over time, her years in storage have caused her to develop claustrophobia and abandonment issues.
After Andy's toys find their way into the toy museum, Jessie begins to feel lonely and bitter. She is initially reluctant to let go of Woody and the rest of the Roundup gang, but Stinky Pete, a Prospector who used to be a good friend of Jessie's, convinces her to follow them.
Then, she is reunited with her friends after Woody returns to Sunnyside. She tells them about her experiences in the museum, and she and the other toys decide to join Andy, despite Lotso's pleas that they should stay with him.
However, she is unhappy that they are going to stay in Sunnyside and tells Woody that she doesn't want to be a part of the prison again. She also calls Lotso a "liar" and a "bully."
Jessie's relationship with Buzz was only hinted at the end of Toy Story 2 when she was instantly lovestruck with him, but their romantic relationship had not evolved much in Toy Story 3. In Toy Story 3, she becomes more attracted to him due to his Spanish mode, and they dance together towards the end of the film. Eventually, they seal their relationship with a pasodoble that closes the trilogy.
