When a band releases a debut album and has built up a following with little to no exposure, it can be a huge surprise. Spiritbox have been a big name on the metal scene since they released their first track "Secret Garden", and now have reached the top of the charts with their debut album "Eternal Blue".
They are known for their unique visual aesthetic, mixing in paranormal and human imagery, and also the fact that their music is full of dark and light, which makes the name spiritbox fit perfectly for them. The band is currently on tour in support of Eternal Blue, and they are definitely one of the best bands to see live!
The band's style is a blend of different genres, from djent to metalcore and prog metal, and even some synth-infused rock rhythms. This has resulted in some great songwriting, which can be seen in the title track of this release.
This song features Courtney's vocals and Mike's guitar riffs with some incredible drum work. It begins as a slower, melodic rock track, but after the second chorus, Courtney lets her screams rip through the song. She's backed by an equally incredible drumming performance, and the song ends with another great scream-filled breakdown!
This is a really great track, and it's a fantastic example of how they can switch up their sound from track to track. It's a bit of a shame that this song isn't on their first album, but I think it's a great way to end the record, so you can get a taste of everything they have to offer.
