Throughout his career, Nikki Sixx has been involved in many interesting things. From forming a band called 'Brides of Destruction' to working as a songwriter, radio host and photographer. He's also been married to several women and has two children.
Nikki Sixx was born on December 11, 1958 in San Jose, California to a single mother named Deana Richards. He was raised by his mother and his grandparents. He moved around a lot during his childhood, and attended several schools.
He became a musician when he was 17 and auditioned for various bands. He eventually formed the heavy metal band Motley Crue with drummer Tommy Lee and singer Vince Neil. Their most successful album was Dr. Feelgood, which remained on the charts for 114 weeks.
A scary brush with a heroin overdose made him lose his life for just a minute, but Sixx has since become sober and is happily married. He has three kids; Gunner, Storm and Decker with his first wife Brandi and daughter Frankie Jean with his second.
After he got out of Motley Crue, Sixx worked as a songwriter for other bands. He has collaborated with Lita Ford, Alice Cooper and Meat Loaf. He has also authored an autobiography entitled The Dirt. He has also hosted a radio show called 'Sixx Sense'.
