Nicola Walker is an English stage, radio, and film actress who has worked in several popular British TV dramas. She has been active in the entertainment industry for over 30 years.

She began her acting career at a young age. She started taking acting classes at Saint Nicholas School, Old Harlow in Essex and Forest School, Walthamstow, England, before graduating from New Hall, Cambridge in 1986.
Her first major role was as Gypsy Jones in an adaptation of "A Dance to the Music of Time" by Channel 4. She then appeared as English teacher Suzy Travis in two series of Steven Moffat's school-based sitcom, Chalk. In 1997, she got the leading part of DI Susan Taylor in an ITV thriller serial, Touching Evil.
In 1999, she starred as the lead in post-apocalyptic drama serial, The Last Train. She appeared in two sequel serials, and in February 2012 she played a major character in the one-off BBC crime drama, Inside Men.
She has worked in numerous series, including The Split, Spooks, and Unforgotten. She has been married to actor Barnaby Kay since 2006. The couple have a son named Harry, who was born in October 2006.
