Michael McKean is a talented American actor and musician who has earned quite a reputation for himself over the course of his career. He has appeared in a variety of films and television shows, including This Is Spinal Tap, Clue, Laverne & Shirley, and Better Call Saul. In addition, he has also performed on stage and has done voice-over work for various projects.
McKean was born in New York, New York on October 17, 1947. He is of English, Scottish, Irish, and German descent. He grew up in Sea Cliff, New York on Long Island. He began his acting career in high school, where he performed in numerous musicals and plays. He later went on to study at the University of Southern California.
During his early years as an actor, McKean was part of several comedy groups, including The Credibility Gap with David Lander and Harry Shearer. He also played the role of Lenny Kosnowski in the popular 1976 television sitcom, Laverne & Shirley.
