Mark Lee is a Canadian rapper, singer, dancer and songwriter based in South Korea. He is a member of the South Korean boy band NCT and its fixed sub-units NCT U and NCT Dream, as well as the South Korean supergroup SuperM.
Mark joined NCT as a member of the NCT Dream sub-unit in August 2016. The seven-member group, consisting of members Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung, debuted in August 2016, with their first digital single, "Chewing Gum".
He is also a member of the SM Entertainment-affiliated "supergroup" SuperM, which includes Shinee's Taemin, Exo's Baekhyun and Kai, and NCT's Lucas and Ten. He is a frequent contributor to the group's singles, having written for the title track of their first album, "Resonance".
On December 21, Mark released his debut solo track titled “Child,” which features Henry Lau and was recorded alongside the K-pop singer. The track was also featured in the original soundtrack of the Korean drama 'Sweet Stranger and Me'.
Aside from music, Mark also likes to write poetry. He often posts small pieces of his writing on his NCT Dream group's social media accounts, revealing an introspective, philosophical side to him that may not be readily apparent in person.
In a recent interview, Mark shared that he feels his path to becoming a K-pop idol was destined. He explained that he originally didn't want to join a K-pop group, but a series of events led him to audition for SM Entertainment.
