November 11, 2023

Luke Islam rose to fame on season 14 of America’s Got Talent, where he stunned the judges and audience with his performance of She Used To Be Mine from Waitress. His incredible rendition earned him a golden buzzer from Julianne Hough, and he advanced straight to the semifinals of the competition. Since then, the 12-year-old from Long Island, New York, has made a name for himself in both the music industry and acting worlds.

Luke’s sister, a theater major, introduced him to musical theatre and ignited his passion for performing. He’s been entering Broadway musical lotteries every weekend to get discounted tickets, and he regularly attends Wingspan Arts, an after-school program that provides kids with the opportunity to participate in performing arts.

He’s also a fan of Lin-Manuel Miranda, who created the hit musical Hamilton. Luke cites Miranda as his idol, and he hopes to work with him someday.

In addition to singing, Luke has an active YouTube presence where he shares videos of his performances and behind-the-scenes footage. He currently has more than 200,000 subscribers on his channel, which features covers and vlogs in addition to live clips from various shows.

The talented youngster has also made his acting debut, and he’s appearing as series regular Jaden ‘Koob’ Koobler on the Disney+ sports comedy-drama The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. The series premiered on March 26, 2021, and it was renewed for a second season in August of the same year.
