The latest single from Bieber's Justice album has been getting a lot of attention, and it seems to have some pretty personal meaning for the Canadian singer. In fact, he's even devoted the song to his wife, Hailey.
'I want you to know I love you like a peach, I want you to know I'm so in love with you. I want you to be right here with me 'til the end,' says Biebs, who sings in a sleepy and monotonous manner that seems to lack any energy or commitment.
‘I like the way you kiss me, I like your skin and touch,’ he repeats. He also tells her that he's been "right by your side" since the beginning.
This may be a little far-fetched, but it sounds a lot like marriage to me. The line "I'm going to be your husband" does in fact sound a bit like the marriage vows.
It's a sad fact that this type of mediocre and empty lyrics have become common place in the music industry. In fact, it's all too often a sign that the artist has decided to settle into a safe and predictable place in their career.
So it's no wonder that Bieber has been releasing a lot of bland platitudes and posturing songs over the last few years. He's carved out a very successful and dull place for himself and Peaches is yet another example of that. It's not a bad song but it is a very boring one and it will remain boring for as long as the singer is in this position.
