During his heyday on NBC's Parks and Recreation, Jean-Ralphio Saperstein (played by Ben Schwartz) was one of the show's zaniest characters. He was Tom Haverford's best friend and a frequent business partner.
Aside from his swagger and tried-and-true freestyle raps of your name, the most memorable thing about Jean-Ralphio was his off-color way with words. He had a knack for saying the right thing at the wrong time and never let a good story get in the way of a good punchline.
He could be a bit of a klutz, but Jean-Ralphio always looked to make things better for those around him. He would take on the toughest tasks and try to turn them into opportunities for his peers. He was also a shrewd investor who cultivated goodwill through business acumen.
The most memorable moment from Jean-Ralphio's heyday occurred when Tom convinced him to start his own multimedia company, Entertainment 720. They kept a swanky headquarters with expensive things, threw parties and hired models. They even gave out "swag" to employees, including boxes and boxes of iPads.
For a moment, he actually made the money! But he was a little overconfident about his new found fortune. He soon ran into financial problems. The icing on the cake came when he and his sister, Mona Lisa (played by Jenny Slate), staged a fictitious funeral to collect life insurance money. It was the funniest moment in a show that wasn't afraid to have some laughs and let the cat out of the bag.
