Wonderboy Johnson was a talented gospel musician who started his musical career with his father and uncles in the original Spiritual Voices quartet. He earned the nickname “Wonder Boy” at the age of five because of his amazing vocal talents. Johnson released fourteen albums over a thirteen-year period, with eleven of them appearing on the Billboard magazine Gospel Albums charts. Several of his albums also made it to the Independent Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts. He was signed to World Wide Gospel, Black smoke, Verity, and Central South records. Johnson was a six-time Stellar Award winner and a two-time Dove Award nominee.
He is survived by his parents, Susan and Phillip Johnson; his sister Attorney Sonya Denise Johnson; his daughter Elyse Johnson; and his son Brianna Destiny Johnson. The Chilly Winds singer was born on May 17, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York. He was a divorced man with two children. His net worth was estimated at one to five million dollars.
