If you’re a fan of Drake, you’re probably already familiar with his latest single. It’s called “Jungle,” and it comes off his just-released project, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.
The song has a lot of pathos, and is likely about the aftermath of a relationship. It’s a harrowing story, and Drake seems to be feeling pretty lost and alone.
Throughout the song, Drake says things like, “I got a lot of regrets and feelings,” which is quite a strong statement. He uses it as a way of making sure that you know what he’s going through, and is willing to share it with you.
It’s also a pretty effective way of showing you that Drake can still act, despite his age and how he’s aged since we last saw him.
In the film, Drake wanders through a few different venues in his Toronto neighborhood. You can hear a little bit of new music coming at the six-minute mark, but it’s minimal and very ambient.
This might be a snippet from his Views From the 6 LP, but it’s unclear if it’s even on there yet.
Jungle is a 14-minute short film from Drake’s October’s Very Own blog, and it’s scored by Noah 40 Shebib (minimally). The video features two brief snippets of possible new music, but most of it is just a pretty introspective and sad-faced look at the rapper’s life.
It’s a really interesting short film, and it’s definitely worth watching. The only problem is that it’s probably a little too long and sad for most people to watch without feeling something.
