May 17, 2023

Billy Redden net worth is a topic that many people are interested in, as he became well known for his role in the movie Deliverance. However, very few know about his personal life or how much he makes.

Redden is an American actor best known for his role as Lonnie, a banjo player from North Georgia, in the 1972 film Deliverance. His performance as a backwoods mountain boy was highly acclaimed, and the famous banjo scene from the film made him a star. While the film brought him worldwide fame, it also typecast him as a banjo-playing mountain boy and limited his acting opportunities.

The next film for which he is known was the 1984 movie Blastfighter. This was followed by a small part in the Tim Burton picture Big Fish in 2003. In 2012, he was interviewed for the documentary The Deliverance of Rabun County and stated that he never saw much money from his role in the movie, and that he was currently working at Walmart.

In 2009, he played the same character again in the film Outrage: Born in Terror. In 2004 he made a guest appearance on Blue Collar TV, playing a car repairman named Ray in a “Redneck Dictionary” skit. He represented the word “raisin bread” (as in Ray’s inbred).

Besides his acting career, Redden has worked as a tour guide for people visiting the filming locations of Deliverance. He has been married twice and has no children. He has kept his private life away from the media and is focused on his acting career.
