Billie Eilish's 'ilomilo' meaning

When it comes to Billie Eilish's debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO, there are a lot of songs that you can't help but fall in love with. From the twisted electro-pop track "ilomilo" to the catchy ballad "ocean eyes," you can't help but be mesmerized by her beautiful vocals.

The Game

Ilomilo is a puzzle platformer developed by Southend Interactive and published by Microsoft for Windows Phone 7 and Xbox Live Arcade (via Xbox LIVE Gold). It tells the story of ilo and milo, two friends who can't seem to get along. In this spooky world of patchwork crafted cubes, the pair have to reunite and navigate twisting constructs before they can be rescued from their separated paths.

Lyrics and Meaning

Throughout the song, Billie Eilish makes several references to death and loss. These include the lyrics, "can't lose another life" and "friends I've had to bury." Some people believe these are references to her friend, rapper XXXTentacion, who passed away in 2018.

Gameplay

Ilomilo features a number of lovable characters, including Sebastian, a self-important inhabitant of the world who is a great help to ilo and milo, as well as other quirky characters such as Safkas, small creatures that are always on the lookout for hats. They can be rescued by the player and can then pave the way to optional challenge levels that introduce new challenges.

Ilomilo is one of my favorite games of all time and a game that I highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, relaxing puzzle experience. It has a variety of challenging stages, an intriguing storyline that is told through the use of unique gameplay elements, and a plethora of collectibles to help you make your way through the baffling cube world.
