Saxophonist Avery Dixon gained popularity as a celebrity after his Golden Buzzer performance on America’s Got Talent Season 17 which made him popular worldwide. He was born on October 10, 2000 and is 21 years old now. He became famous for his melodious performance which immediately grabbed the attention of judges Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara. He was so impressive that Terry Crews pressed the golden buzzer and sent him to the semifinals.
In the Semifinals of AGT All-Stars, Avery Dixon played Stevie Wonder’s Higher Ground on his saxophone backed by a band and received standing ovations from Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, and Heidi Klum. He won the Superfan votes and beat Peter Antoniou and Keren Montero, advancing to the finale.
The finale show of AGT All-Stars aired on January 16. In his final performance, Avery Dixon played Earth, Wind, and Fire’s September on his saxophone. The judges and the audience loved his performance and gave him a standing ovation. However, he did not win the title and finished in 2nd place behind Aidan Bryant and Light Balance Kids.
Avery is working hard to achieve his dream of becoming a successful musician. He regularly performs at parties, weddings, and jazz events. He also plays a lot with well-known musicians like the violinist Ken Ford and guitarist Mike Phillips. He has also released an EP called Entrees. He is also dedicated to giving back to the hospital where he was born. He has founded an organization called GraceNotes and Totes through which he gives essential items such as blankets, wipes, diapers, and small stuffed toys to NICU families.
